Shakira goes all Bollywood

September 7th 2006 11:27
She’s this century’s belly dancing queen. Latina artist, Shakira, left us guys with our jaws dropped below sea level for the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ video clip. Now she intends to bring her gyrating hips to Bollywood.

The MTV Video Music Awards sparked her sudden Indian revelation. Indian choreographer and film maker, Farah Khan, was hired by MTV to choreograph Shakira’s performance of ‘Hips Don’t Lie’.

Here’s the performance:

There was an obvious Indian influence with her sari costume and Indian back up dancers. So she’s had the taste of Bollywood and now she wants more.

It looks like she’ll have another Bollywood feast after forging a friendship with Ms. Khan. Shakira has already asked Khan to direct her next music video.

On top of that, Shakira also wants in on Khan’s next Bollywood film entitled ‘Om Shanti Om’. She’s a greedy lil’ celebrity ain’t she?

According to Reuters, Khan has yet to give us a concrete answer on exactly what is happening, though she has said that she and Shakira have agreed to work with each other in the future.

There has been nothing but praise from her who said, “She is clued in to Bollywood dance” when referring to Shakira. With only four hours of rehearsal for the MTV Award performance, Shakira sure looks like a natural.

But hold your horses folks; Khan said that there are no plans to include Shakira in ‘Om Shanti Om’ just yet. For Shakira to be a part of the Bollywood feature film, Khan would have to write an entirely new song to an existing script. None-the-less, she said she’s still open to the idea if Shakira is free during the time of shooting.

So get ready for a Latino-Bollywood extravaganza.

Take care and peace out…

I think I read somewhere in the papers that Beyonce is into all this bollywood dance/movie making thingy as well! it would be interesting to see either of them in bollywood movies i guess.

ryc: I guess that best friends/lovers could work out for people in their 30s, when they are more mature. And i was writing that entry from a tennger/young adult point of view (things are way more fun when we're younger!), so you got that one right. As for things turning sour over a failed relationship, I guess even if things could still work out and people remain friends after that, it just won't be the same anymore. Coz there's that history between them....that 'dent' that will remain permanent. Anyway, just my 2 cents on this matter.

Cheers!
