"Presidential Race or Racial Campaign"
June 19th 2008 19:55
As we all know every four years we vote to elect the individual who will serve as the President of the United States of America, and not once in history has this process ever been a calculation in the number of African-American/Black or Caucasian/White voters that are voting for either candidate.
Why is this important????
Is it important to determine the racial number of soldiers who have died in Iraq or the racial number of people who feel the war is senseless or the racial number of people who feel the current position holder shouldn't be in office?
We now have a very qualified African-American/Black man campaigning for the position and we as a people seem to deem it acceptable to calculate the number of people of each race that are voting for the candidates. I deem it to be insane, because this says that we as a people have not received any of the signs that racism, hate, and separation are not tolerated through the eyes of the beholder.
The focus of this election is not the race of the individual campaigning, it is rather a basis of who will benefit us as a people. If we continue to live our lives judging each other by our skintones, we will continue to stagger as a society.
