Lyrics Born @ The Metro

Tom Shimura aka. Lyrics born is a Californian MC who is heading down under.
The man is known for his tracks that feature in Coca-Cola and Motorola commercials.
Selling your music to multinational corperation might not garner respect from other artists, but for an Indie hip hopper like Shimura, it's a way to pay the bills.
When asked by the Sydney Morning Herald whether he regretted selling his tracks, Shimura came up with this:
"Not really, because when you're an artist like myself on an indie label and you know you make good music and you know the music has as much potential as whatever else is out there, you don't have the opportunity to be heard on a massive level. That's what commercials and movies and TV shows do: they give the little guys the opportunity to be on the same playing field as the big guys."

Lyrics Born is performing @ The Metro Theatre, in Sydney on November 22nd.
Lyrics Born has front acted for acts such as De La Soul, though he's also supported Franz Ferdinand suprisingly enough.
