Jay-Z's comeback album leaked
October 8th 2006 08:49
Allhiphop.com reports the leak of Jay-Z’s comeback album ‘Kingdom Come’.
Before I get into the nitty, gritty stuff; I want to know what the hell is going on with these comebacks.
It’s like Michael Jordon began a new trend. P. Diddy is retired; whoops no he’s not… What about Jay-Z? Okay, so as long as Beyonce has a career, Jay-Z is still in the business, but didn’t he quit his solo career 2 years ago?
Only today I realised there was a comeback album, scheduled for release on Novemeber 21. Unluckily for him, his comeback is premature.
It turns out that the first single, ‘Show Me’, is leaked all over the internet and is blazing across radio stations in the U.S. like a bushfire in central New South Wales during January.
While music fans will appreciate the leak, it turns out that Def Jam Records is furious. As reported from allhiphop.com, an anonymous source says that the FBI may do an investigation.
Def Jam is doing an internal investigation to see who the snitch who leaked the single is. With guns blazing, Def Jam plans to launch a legal battle on whoever the individual may be.
The leakage issue is one that’s plagued the music industry for a while; everyone remembers the Napster legal battle. Most recently, Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Food & Liquor’ and The Roots latest album, ‘Game Theory’, have been leaked before their scheduled releases.
So come November 21, 2006… Look out for Jay-Z’s album: ‘Kingdom Come’. That’s unless you already have it.
Take care and peace out…
